Brigantine Boat Ramp Project Completed. Less Flooding Expected.

The Brigantine boat ramp project is now finished. This should reduce the nuisance flooding that happens on this part of the island.

Brigantine City Manager Ed Stinson said the project was mainly funded by a New Jersey Economic Development Authority grant.

The Brigantine Boat ramp project included:

  • Installation of a storm water drainage system
  • Installation of a pumping station and electric generator
  • Reconstruction and regrading of roadway, sidewalks and curbing
  • Install of flood gate in the bulkhead

Dredging of St. George’s Thoroughfare Bay is getting underway, and will be finished by November. The waterway will be cleared of heavy sediment that often impedes boating traffic.
