The Brigantine ELKS were acknowledged and greatly thanked for donating new beach wheel-chairs. The puffy wheeled, PVC based chairs make it possible for walking-challenged sun-lovers to enjoy the award-winning beaches of Brigantine.

Superstorm Sandy swamped the boat ramp at 5th Street South and Bayshore Avenue in Brigantine. That problem is gonna get remedied. Brigantine just snagged a grant of $698,115 for the repair & upgrade work. Drainage improvements, and a permanent storm water pumping station are key parts of the project. The work should start in the fall.

Brigantine Council recently approved ten liquor license renewals. “No violations” says Brig PD.

85 bicycles will be soon be auctioned off on GovDeals.com. These are a collection of abandoned bikes and stolen bikes found by the city. Want to claim a lost bike? Contact City Hall and be ready to show proper identification.

Brigantine Contamination Watch:

Council awarded a contract to continue monitoring water quality & soil in areas of the Brigantine Golf Links. Fuels tanks were removed from that site in the early 2000’s. The former lighthouse circle gas station properties may also be monitored as well.

Brigantine City Manager, Ed Stinson, is under pressure to meet DEP; Department of Environmental Protection standards.

  1. Where and how much to rent the beach wheel chair? Also is there a waiting list you have to go on? My mother is 91 and she.loves the beach and I would love to have the chair to bring her to the beachfront.
