Expired Brigantine Police, Fire & Teacher Contracts Take Back Seat with Council.

Brigantine Lifeguards came to terms with the City recently. As per usual, the highly respected Brigantine Beach Patrol came to the table and got the deal done.

On the flip side, the Police, Fire & Teachers unions are still mired in a seemingly un-ending series of negotiations that has move little over the past two years. To date, the only winners in this contract dispute are the Public Safety employees, the teachers and the attorneys racking op those billable hours.

Police, Fire & Teachers have been reported to be asking for substantial increases in pay, benefits and head count.

In a Nancy Pelosi type moment, Mayor Guenther, City Manager Stinson and Atty Scerni have implied that the general public will not be able to see the contracts until they are ratified.
