Part Time Residents of Brigantine noted the amount of fighting between Mayor Guenther and City Council members as of late. Some made their feelings known at the special Saturday morning meeting on JULY 18.
The Mayor of 26+ years, who also controls the local school board, urged residents to avoid the Internet and certain social media sites that were sharing ‘disgusting’ and negative news alerts. Councilperson Bew warned of Cyber Bullies that attack from the safety of their computer keyboard.

Brigantine Council members McClay, Piccardi, along with Guenther made references to the very popular BrigantineNOW news site on numerous occasions. Why has BrigantineNOW grown so large? ‘Because local taxpayers appreciate the non-biased sharing of city info’ said one full-time resident who asked not to be identified.
Watch Video > Where does this so-called ‘fabricated news’ come from? It comes straight from the mouths of city council, during council meetings….which are video-taped to ensure accuracy. To be sure, Brigantine City Council is unaccustomed to such scrutiny, and would prefer to stay under the radar.
The Internet allows for superior transparency. Guenther & council have enjoyed virtual anonymity over the years prior to the introduction of BrigantineNOW.com. The local paper; The Brigantine Times, is well known for ‘missing’ major stories that while uncomfortable, are vital to basic local journalism.

If our elected officials had nothing to hide they would welcome “BrigantineNow”. Truth hurts and our elected officials need to come clean about all their closed door dealings & stop making stupid comments “we have the Kennedy’s” . It’s wonderful that the Kennedy family settled in Brigantine but the taxpayers see nor feel any tax relief as a result of our new neighbors. Now if Jaw’s got the Links the taxpayers would have felt a tax relief immediately but no we gave it to a city worker. Truth hurts boys!
