The City of Brigantine is working on upgrading it’s streetscapes. The city hosted a meeting for the local business community recently. The focus was a re-design of the central business district of Brigantine. Presentations were made by a Philadelphia landscape architectural firm.

Two different designs were presented to attendees. A $150,000 grant will targeted the updated streetscape between 14th St. and Ninth St. Street Look for updating of the roadway, buildings, sidewalks, street furniture, trees, open-space and other features. The goal is to make Brigantine’s central business district a more pedestrian friendly area.

A variety of textured and colored concrete pavers, along with additional trees and shrubbery. Lighting will be upgraded as well with new energy-efficient LED’s. Look for new benches, bike racks, and new trashcan receptacles. It’s all part of the new and improved central business district in Brigantine. Work should start in March 2016 and should be finished by Memorial Day 2016.
