The City Council of the City of Brigantine will hold a special meeting on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss contract negotiations for the management of the golf course. The majority of the meeting will be held in executive session. The meeting will be held at the Brigantine City Hall located at 1417 West Brigantine Avenue, Brigantine, NJ 08203. Formal action may be taken.

Here is a chance for Brigantine to make a decision that can be either short sighted or in the best interest for Brigantine long term….
Simply stated, I would essentially GIVE the contract to Ron Jaworski’s golf management group if I had to. NOBODY care’s about Brigantine’s golf course. I am a passionate golfer and own a home in Brigantine…. I have not been to “The Link’s at Brigantine Beach” in 4 years! Why? Because if I am going to spend my hard earned money I want to get value in return. I often laugh at the fees charged at The Links to play golf there when I can hop in my car and drive to any number of FANTASTIC golf courses along the jersey shore and get FANTASTIC value for my hard earned dollar.
The Link’s at Brigantine is a hard sell to the local golf community. It’s NOT cheap, it’s in relatively poor condition, it’s had a reputation for having a “Greenhead” issue, it does not have a practice range and it’s tucked away at the far end of an island that not many people know a thing about. All that said, Ron Jaworski is the king of golf in South Jersey! Why? He is established and has the ear of the south jersey golf community. He brought back Running Deer Golf Course from the dead… he owns 3 other courses and has a significant following. I am sure Jaworski knows this and my guess is that his bid reflects that. I would be shocked if Jaworski’s bid is higher than Billy Casper’s bid but to me it almost does not matter. Ron Jaworski’s golf management group has the unique ability to draw golfers to a golf course that very few know or care exists.
Again, I LOVE golf and I LOVE playing golf… I have not been to The Link’s at Brigantine Beach in over 4 years…. and I own a home here. I know I am not alone in saying that this course needs a heavy hitter. Jaworski, in the south jersey golf world, is a “celebrity chef”. If anyone can make the golf course successful and ultimately draw peripheral business to Brigantine, it’s Jaworski. Don’t be short sighted Brigantine officials… put Jaworski in charge and let him work his magic… “If you let Jaws build it….. they will come!”.
