The 28th annual Brigantine Island Triathlon – South Jersey’s oldest – will be held 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.
Residents and visitors should expect traffic disruptions, according to triathlon committee members.
The event will start at the 26th Street city dock and Bayshore Avenue, with swimmers in different sex and age groups swimming a quarter-mile course.
After leaving the water, triathletes will proceed to a transition area on 26th Street where they will mount bicycles for an 11-mile ride. After returning to the transition area, they will then run a 4-mile course on Brigantine Avenue to the North End before heading back to a finish on 26th Street.
