Atlantic City Police Officer Richard Link, 29, of Brigantine, was found dead Saturday in his car in Galloway Township.
An autopsy determined Link’s manner of death to be suicide caused by a gunshot wound.
Atlantic City Police Chief Henry White described Officer Link as a bright, rising star.
Link joined the ACPD as a Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II in December 2016. He became a full-time ACPD officer in April 2019.
Link was assigned to the Atlantic City Riot Investigation Team, focused on bringing justice to those alleged to have committed crimes during the May 31 riots associated with BLM activist, Steve Young.
