Bite On. Brigantine Striper Fishing Heating Up.

Brigantine Striper FishingStriper fishing in Brigantine looks like it’s finally heating up. Captain John Wilkinson from Brigantine’s Babu Fishing Charters says:  The Davis group fished hard for 4 hours yesterday (Oct 25) drifting eels, and casting artificials to the sod banks behind Brigantine in the evening, and again early this morning with no luck.

I then decided to run into the ocean until I got to the 30′ line, and the fishing gods smiled on us by allowing this nice 49.5 inch 40.5 pound striper to bite one of the tandem 9″ shad parachute jigs and a #19 tony spoon. The fish not only had the shad in its mouth, but also, an adult bunker in her gullet. The striper were swimming about a half mile inshore of the EEZ feeding on a large bunker school with gannets overhead dive bombing the school as well.

After 10 hours of fishing we were rewarded with a very nice fish. We continued trying for another, but despite seeing great marks on the fish finder no more bites came.
