Brigantine delayed the city’s $4 million bond ordinance again. Some said it was too vague. If passed, Brigantine would pile another $4 million to its current debt service. Money will be used for road and sewer improvements, fire equipment, bulkheads, recreational fields and public buildings.
According to a report in the Press of Atlantic City, Mayor Phil Guenther said “I think residents and council members deserve an explanation of how we intend to use any funds we’re going to borrow.” The Mayor also wants to know how much of the bonded improvements may be reimbursed by insurance.
