Brigantine fishing is always fun in the fall.
Cathy Crossland from Bayside Marina reports some nice fishing action in spite of the winds. The weakfish have been very strong in the back and off the rocks on minnows and bucktails with Gulp. The tautog fishing has been excellent off the rocks, bridge, and sod banks using green crabs.
Kingfish have reappeared in the surf along with the big spot that everyone is saying are mutants that escaped during Sandy.
There are plenty of small blues and barely legal stripers to have fun with. There are the big guys hanging around north of us in LBI and hopefully the stormy weather this week will bring them on down.
Offshore was beautiful but not a lot happening. Chuck Durr and his crew picked up some mahi mahi at Spencer then the fog pretty much shut things down.
