Brigantine Police Apprehend Teens Carrying Gun and Marijuana

Brigantine police officers keeping our shore town safe.

BrigPD stopped a vehicle around midnight on Friday, Feb 21, along the 3200 block of Brigantine Blvd.

An Atlantic City teen in the car was arrested for possessing a handgun. He and two other teens tried to flee that motor vehicle stop. Once the car was stopped by BPD, the three teens took off.

Officers Suralik, Huot and Seidel gave chase. Officer Seidel saw the teen he was chasing discard what turned out to be loaded handgun from his waistband, police said in the report. The 17-year-old was apprehended by Seidel and Officer Shane Dugan.

The other two suspects were a 17-year-old from Atlantic City and a 15-year old from Bridgeton, NJ.

In the car, Brigantine Police found a large quantity of marijuana already pre-packaged for resale.

The teen with the gun was taken to the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center. The other two teens were charged and released pending appearances in juvenile court.
