Brigantine Says NO to Legal Marijuana Shops

Brigantine City Council has approved an ordinance banning pot sales, just in case the State of NJ legalizes it.

“there is no area of the City which can safely house a business selling recreational marijuana” or paraphernalia.

NJ Gov. Phil Murphy wants to legalize recreational weed asap. So far, he’s getting limited support from law makers.

Medical marijuana is already legal in the New Jersey.

Scutari’s bill allows for local governments to enact ordinances to stop marijuana retailers from setting up shop in their municipalities.

Brigantine boasts of being one of the first towns in Atlantic County to pass an ordinance like this.

Next door in Atlantic City, they welcome the sale of the weed, believing it would help the struggling resort financially.

Why is there a “Tobacco” store in the center of town that sells paraphernalia to ANYONE if “there is no area of the City which can safely house a business selling recreational marijuana” or paraphernalia.
