Brigantine Welcomes New Police Chief, Thomas Rehill

Congrats to the new Chief of the Brigantine Police Department, Thomas Rehill. Sworn in on April 18 at City Hall.

Rehill has deep roots & experience. He’s is a lifelong Brigantine resident and has held every rank in the police department.

  • Patrol Division
  • Supervisor
  • Shift lieutenant
  • Detective Bureau
  • Internal Affairs
  • Police Training Commission
  • Bike Squad.

Rehill replaces Chief Jim Bennett, who retired April 1, after serving 26 years with the department.

Lt. Thomas Wodazak as also sworn in as police captain. Wodazak began his Brigantine career as a Class II officer in 2000, promoted to full time in 2002. In 2011, Wodazak was promoted to sergeant, worked as detective in 2014, and promoted to lieutenant in 2016.

And Congrats to Sgt. Frank Hewitt. Sworn in to his new rank as lieutenant in the Brigantine Police Department.

Hewitt was hired full time in 2000. He quickly moved into the detective bureau in 2003, where he served for 10 years.
