Brigantine’s Blumenthal Searching for Funds

Brigantine City Manager; Jennifer Blumenthal, is searching for federal funding. Homeowners affected by Hurricane Sandy could tap into some funding from FEMA……maybe. That’s a BIG maybe at this point. But Ms. Blumenthal is on a mission.

According to Mike Feely from The Beachcomber News, the city has applied for flood mitigation funds that can be used for pump stations, floodgates and property acquisition. Pump stations have proven effective in the golf course area and one being considered is the lighthouse circle. Floodgates have also proven to be effective. Atlantic County is thought to be considering the use of federal funds to repair the damaged seawall on Brigantine’s north end.

To be considered, send a letter of interest by Monday, Jan. 28 to Brigantine City Engineer – Ed Stinson.

Homeowners should contact Ed Stinson at City Hall
