Recovery Assistance is available from BrigStrong to help residents recover from the effects of Superstorm Sandy. Ten months after Sandy, many residents are still not back in their homes, others are still negotiating settlements with their insurance companies, and many are trying to understand what grants they might be eligible for in order to raise their homes. BrigStrong can help. We expect to have additional construction materials available soon, and there is still grant funding available for those who have limited resources. There are also volunteer groups available to help with clean-ups, rip-outs and other labor intensive tasks.
If you still have a Sandy recovery need, be sure to sign up so that BrigStrong can match your need with available resources. To sign up with BrigStrong, call the Brigantine Beach Community Center at (609) 264-7350 or come down the BBCC and fill out a BrigStrong assistance form. You can also come to the BBCC on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and meet with a BrigStrong member in the Art Room who will help you with the assistance form. Also on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. there is an information-sharing session with light refreshments followed by a 30-minute relaxation session facilitated by Naida Burgess, noted stress relief counselor and yoga instructor.
