Fishing in Brigantine? Remember to Register. It’s Free & Easy.

Before you cast that line into these Brigantine waters, make sure to register for the New Jersey Saltwater Recreational Registry.

It’s free and easy to do. The registry is like a universal phone book – or registry – of all current saltwater anglers in the US. The registry was developed to gain more accurate and timely information on recreational fisheries. New Jersey does not have a saltwater license.

Registration is free and is available online here:  NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry

All Marine Fisheries Rules and Regulations must be followed at all times.

The purpose of the registry is to help fishermen and policy makers work together to better account for the contributions and impacts of saltwater anglers on ocean ecosystems and coastal economies, and to provide the most accurate information possible that can be used to determine the health of fish stocks. Reliable, trusted info will help anglers, fisheries managers and other stakeholders to effectively and fairly set the rules that will ensure the long-term sustainability of recreational fishing.   For more information, visit www.CountMyFish.noaa.gov.
