Guarded Brigantine Beaches this Weekend

The following beaches will have lifeguards on duty 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1: 2nd St. North, 15th St. South, and 26th St. South. The Brigantine City Beach Patrol asks parents to please be vigilant in the watching of their children both on the sand and in the water. Recent storms have created some large gullies and sandbars. These conditions may lead bathers to go from waist-deep water to overhead depths quickly. This past week the patrol had seven beach first-aid calls, two of which needed our EMT to respond for assistance. One patient was transferred to our Fire Department and taken to ACMC for additional care.

Please only swim at beaches with lifeguards on duty. In case of an emergency call 911 immediately.

Have a safe and happy summer and remember to use common sense and trash cans.
