Lane Closure for Brigantine Powerline Upgrade

Atlantic City Electric is starting construction on a cable replacement project in Brigantine. An existing cable that provides power to Brigantine Island will be replaced with a new one that improves customer reliability. Atlantic City Electric has worked with various agencies including the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) to obtain the necessary approvals and permits to begin construction on the new cable installation on the Brigantine Bridge (Route 87). The right lane of the bridge will be closed during construction and is scheduled to re-open prior to Memorial Day weekend.

With the approach of the summer season, Atlantic City Electric’s top priority is to provide safe and reliable electric service to its customers. The new cable is better equipped to handle peak load conditions during the summer months and will help enhance reliability to the residents and visitors of Brigantine.

Customers with specific questions regarding the project can call Atlantic City Electric Public Affairs manager Ken Mosca at 609-645-4802.
