On Wednesday, July 2, Brigantine City Council gave the green light to City Manager Blumenthal to contract with Lt. Tim Reed as the new police chief of Brigantine Beach. Captain Alan Weidner will get the nod as new fire chief.
Reed, from Smithville, NJ. is a 25-year veteran with the police department, started in 1988 as a special officer.
Alan Weidner joined the Brigantine Fire Department in 1990. as a firefighter/EMT. Weidner is also a 22-year member of the Dive Rescue Team and serves as a fire instructor at the Atlantic County Fire Training Academy.
