Temporary Dog Park Opens at Brigantine North End.

Brigantine Beach has a new dog park, even if it’s being called temporary for now. The handymen of the Department of Public Works recently built a fenced-in area for Fido to run, just north of the seawall. Chatterboxes along Brigantine Blvd wonder if ‘temporary’ means 5 years. 1. That’s not a dog park. Check out the dog park in Ocean City! That’s a fenced in spot on beach. I wouldn’t be happy if I were those homeowners with the barking & the stench!

  2. The temporary fenced in area on the beach will not be used by many dog owners because they do not like to take their dogs to the beach!! Sand gets in the dogs paws and causes irritation, along with green heads and sand flees.
The old dog park did NOT SMELL. Dog owners picked up the poop in plastic bags and put the poop in metal cans for pick up by the City.
Yes, dogs do sometimes bark and that I think was the main complaint which is understandable.

  3. maybe now the dog owners will stop letting their dogs run loose on the north beach. There are many residents who do not own dogs and do not feel comfortable with dogs running loose. It’s a shame the police don’t enforce the existing laws, including no loose dogs on any beach year round.
