Congrats to Jack Lieberman, the new president at Temple Beth Shalom in Brigantine. Outgoing president Lill Shender handed over the leadership to Jack during the Scholar’s Weekend.
Temple Beth Shalom hosted Scholar’s Weekend August 7th through the 9th. The weekend featured four events with guest Rabbi Jonathan Kligler and Temple Beth Shalom Rabbi Gerald Fox presiding. The festivities began Friday night with an upbeat Sabbath service accompanied by Rabbi Kligler’s guitar. The Woodstock New York rabbi was greeted with great enthusiasm.
Saturday morning the two rabbis conducted a traditional service that was followed by a luncheon. Saturday evening a large cross-section of the congregation gathered at the home of Beth and Carl Apter for an evening of dining, conversation and a lively sing-along.
The weekend concluded Sunday with a group discussion focusing on how the Torah can provide the guidelines and directions for living an ethical and fulfilling life. The board expressed thanks to the weekend sponsors, Drs. Frank and Sarah Kern, and to the rabbis for their leadership.
