The Indoor Rowing Regatta slated for Saturday, March 1 is open to anyone willing to test their endurance on rowing machines. The event, sponsored by the Brigantine Rowing Club, takes place at the North School in Brigantine from 7a.- 4p.
Events specifically for individual rowers take place at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 3:24 p.m., and athletes must check in one hour before their race. Athletes will row 2,000 meters on Concept II ergometers, or rowing machines, competing against others in the same age, sex and weight categories. Age groups range from “Youth” (grades 7 and 8) to “Veteran” (age 70 and over).
Many high school rowing crews participate as teams, but individual high school rowers are also welcome. Pre-register online at regattacentral.com by Feb. 26.
