The back bay bite doesn’t seem to want to quit either as Justin Fesler, Cape May Court House, banged out two keeper fluke to 22 inches near Cold Spring Inlet. Surfsters are finding plenty of action on the Wildwood sands as croakers, kingfish and spot are keeping the rods bent with an occasional brown shark getting the adrenaline pumping. A few bluefish to 2 pounds are beginning to push into the surf as well.
Night owls are casting plugs around bridge pilings to find schoolie stripers. An excellent bigeye bite continues at the Wilmington Canyon and Capt. Joe Gillan and crew proved it with his 157-pound eyeball that hit a spreader bar near the 100-fathom line.
Anglers looking for action can also head to the South Shoal where zillions of 2-pound blues seem to be congregating.
The 100-fathom lines of the Wilmington and Spencer canyons are the hot ticket offshore as tuna and a few white marlin are the main dish on the menu.
