Stripers Return to Brigantine Surf & Bay

Cathy Crossland from Bayside Marina reports the Stripers are back……in the back, out front and in the surf!

A 49-pound cow caught on fresh clams (not rotten) and apparently took the lead in the Atlantic County Derby. In the boats, eels are king especially at night. There are also red and black drum being caught on clam in the surf. Kingfish have made a reappearance along with croakers and those pesky skates.

With the invasion of (usually north of us) sand eels all over shows promise of a great Striper season. Nice tog are being caught off the jetty, sod banks and the old bridge. The T jetty in Atlantic City has been on fire the last couple of weeks.

Offshore, if you can sneak out, there are blue fin tuna in 60 – 70 ft. water.

Bayside just scored 2,000 slipper, slimy eels last week. Perfect bait.  On sale now.
