We have one person who does inspections, and one code enforcement official to handle short-term rental properties and new construction. We need to start looking at bringing in staff. (editor note: no kidding)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brigantine has the most lax, poorly enforced short term rental (STR) laws. Ventnor not much better, especially with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/downbeachbuzz.com\/ventnor-code-enforcement-under-investigation-by-atlantic-county-prosecutor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigation into the Ventnor Code Enforcement Department<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Margate has 10 night rental minimum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Longport has 14 night rental minimum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ventnor has 3 night rental minimum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To date, Brigantine\u2019s Mayor Sera still opposed to common restrictions used by other shore towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>7 night STR minimum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 25 yrs of age to rent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Criminal background check.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limits on how many properties an absentee STR landlord can own.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image aligncenter uagb-block-074ef95d wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-center\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brigantinenow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/48270420_2424015177671292_641370696127086592_n-1-1-700x394.jpg \" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 150px\" src=\"https:\/\/brigantinenow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/48270420_2424015177671292_641370696127086592_n-1-1-700x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-41491\" width=\"800\" height=\"394\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><figcaption class=\"uagb-image-caption\">Platt, Bennett, Sera.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Things not likely to improve when Brigantine\u2019s new city manager gets started.
