How many know that our world-famous; Brigantine Beach patrol, placed #1 in the 2012 Bill Kuhn Lifeguard Races? Yup, they’re that good.
Don’t miss the 2014 edition of the Chief Bill Kuhn Brigantine Invitational Lifeguard Races, 6 p.m. at 16th Street beach, here in Brigantine. It’s awesome.
Team Brigantine features Sven Peltonen, Shane McKenzie, Rob Canavan, Vince Sera, Kyle Fitzgerald, Doug Brown, Matt Dolan and Ron DeFelice.
This annual event packs the beach with boats, 4×4’s, family and friends. The surprisingly large crowd comes out to cheer on their home towns. Click thru for pictures.
Margate, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Longport, Lavellete and Island Beach compete fiercely against our Brigantine guards.
Chief Bill Kuhn was a Brigantine Beach patrol captain from 1937 to 1947, and held various Chief positions from 1951 til 1973. This 48th annual competition was originally held in our back bay. It was moved to the ocean a few years ago in order to replicate actual rescue techniques.
