Captain Andy’s Brigantine Fishing Report

The first annual VFW Flounder Fiasco Fishing Tournament is less than a week away (June 25th -June 27th) and early reports are showing some nice weather for the weekend.

We are getting entries daily and like most tournaments most anglers are waiting to see what the conditions are going to be like.

We have two divisions, boat (60.00) and surf ( 30.00) and it will be the combined
total weight of the 3 heaviest flounder/kingfish.

There are Calcuttas for both for the single heaviest fish (boat 25.00) surf (10.00). You can enter online at www.BeachedCarsofBrigantine.com/form/html.

You can also sign up on the Riptide Bait and Tackle Facebook page as I have it pinned to the top or you can go to the VFW in Brigantine and drop it off there.

Your local Brigantine Marinas will have entry forms there also. It’s going to be a great tournament with tons of door prizes to be given away at the award banquet on Sunday with food and spirits being served. You are guaranteed to have a great time and all the proceeds will go to the VFW Children’s House.

On the fishing front, we are starting to see a lot more blues in the area on the surf and the king fish are making a great showing providing the anglers with a delicious meal to bring home.

There are plenty of flounder out there when you can get out there and the water is not dirty.

Having trouble getting minnows this week as they have been spawning and making it tough for my Minnow Man to get them to eat. It should be over soon and I will have my tanks filled again.

I have been stocking up with plenty of offshore baits as I have a new 22’ freezer in the back.

I have Ballyhoo, flats of sardines, two different size butter fish, 30 pails of bunker chum and any other bait you will need to get offshore.

When the weather window pops up and you need bait, we’re the place to come and get it.

Our new “Striper Love Our Poles” Sweat shirts, hoodies and T-shirts. They look great! We are loaded up with Capt Ron’s, so make sure you don’t head out without it.

Thanks and Keep On Fishin.
