On Feb 16, Brigantine Firefighters responded to assist Brigantine Police with an unknown type of explosive found in a newly purchased home. The material was old, extremely degraded and appeared to be labeled as “smokeless powder”.
The house was evacuated as a precaution. The Atlantic City Bomb Squad was called in to remove the explosive material.
No one was injured. Owners were allowed to re-enter their home upon removal of the material.
